Located in the Shaw neighborhood, Convivial is my favorite French-American bistro, this place is known for its top-notch service, and of course delicious food.

It is quite a decent and elegant place, the cozy decor of this place really makes you feel at home, and the overall inviting atmosphere makes you feel relaxed and comfortable.

If you are going there to have a brunch then you will not regret your decision, they have some unique classic brunch dishes on their menu which is highly worth trying.

All their dishes have traditional American flavors with French culinary techniques, and when I was there, I tried the Croque Madame and in sweet I took the Pain Perdu, I was highly satisfied by the taste. I am damn sure that this place is definitely going to be a treat to your taste buds.

Le Diplomate

For all French cuisine lovers, Le Diplomate is the place for you. This French cafe is popular for its exceptional food and attention to detail in the presentation of its dishes.

If you are going there then you can not miss eating their Steak Frites, it is a classic French dish of steak which they serve with french fries and red wine sauce.

The ambiance of this place has that charm of a Parisian bistro that you will feel like you are teleported to another time and place.

When I go to dining, I always make sure to select a diner where not only good quality food is served but also a unique atmosphere is offered, the cherry on the cake if there is a commitment to community and social justice, Busboys and Poets have it all.

The food menu of this brunch spot is really diverse, if you are in the mood of eating something sweet then you must have to try their Sweet Potato Pancakes, which are topped with toasted pecans, maple syrup, and cream, absolutely delicious.

If you just want to have some classic brunch then the Breakfast Burrito is just outstanding for that matter, they serve it was salsa and sour cream which add extra flavor and punch to the dish.

And how can we forget our Vegan audience? Busboys and Poets have taken care of all vegan folks in DC, their Vegan Burger is the best Vegan burger in the whole of Washington, DC.

The Dabney

The Dabney is a Michelin-star restaurant, and you all already know how good Michelin-recommended restaurants are.

The Dabney is also very unique from other brunch spots in DC, and why am I saying that? because they have very interesting wood-fired cooking, where most of their food item listed on the menu is cooked on a wood-burning hearth.

Also, the open kitchen concept of this place is really interesting, I love restaurants that features an open kitchen, you can see all the chefs joyfully working and preparing your order.

The brunch menu of The Dabney is really diverse and creative, when I visited this place, I tried Buckwheat pancakes with Rhubarb Jam, it was delicious, and had a perfect balance of sweet and sour.

It’s been a long since I visited this place mainly because I stopped eating outside, however, I know that their menu constantly changes, so if you are going there then high chance you will witness something new every time.

Ambar

There are very few restaurants in DC that serves Balkan-inspired dishes, Ambar is one of them.

First of all, this restaurant is very budget-friendly and will serve you the best Balkan dishes without breaking the bank.

Another unique concept of Ambar is their unlimited small plates brunch menu, this unique concept of Ambar, lets foodies like us try different Balkan dishes at very cheap prices, last time when I was there, they were charging $39 for unlimited small plates.

Also, the ambiance of this place is very decent and cozy, and the open kitchen adds an extra positive point to their overall dining experience.

Teddy & The Bully Bar

Do you want to enjoy the American dishes with a little twist? well, Teddy and The Bully Bar is the fantastic spot for that.

First of all, this restaurant is named after the most iconic president of America, Teddy Roosevelt. And the overall atmosphere of this place signifies his life and legacy.

And one of the things that makes this restaurant a perfect brunch spot in DC is its delicious and wide range of dishes.

Their menu is not like any other classic American dish but has some modern twist in it, such as their buttermilk pancakes with vanilla bourbon butter, and the eggs Benedict with house-made hollandaise sauce. Their menu has so many unique dishes like that.

The ambiance is also pretty good, the overall space is very spacious and this spot is perfect for visitors because of its location, this restaurant is located in Dupont Circle where so many attractions are available for visitors to explore.

Blue Duck Tavern

Blue Duck Tavern is another one of the best brunch spots in DC, this place is located on the bottom floor of the Hyatt Park Hotel.

This place is family-friendly and always serves you the best flavor on the table. Their brunch menu is really very diverse and unique.

One of my favorite dishes at Blue Duck Tavern is their roasted chicken with honey-glazed carrots and the blue crab omelet either with avocado or pico de gallo.

Unlike other restaurants in DC, this place only focuses on a few dishes which makes it unique from other brunch spots.

I have visited this place quite a few times and according to me the start of the brunch menu at Medium Rare is the steak and eggs, if you are going there to have brunch then I highly suggest you try this, it is served with crispy fries and salad.

Don’t worry if you are a pure vegetarian since this place also offers the vegetarian option of roaster portobello mushrooms.

For visitors, this place is amazing since it is located in the Cleveland Park neighborhood, after your brunch you can go to see some nearby attractions.

The Smith

The Smith is my favorite brunch spot in DC because of their brunch cocktails menu. This place not only serves you one of the best classic brunches in DC but also some creative cocktails and mocktails.

The Smith offers you a wide variety of brunch dishes and out of which my favorites are Eggs Benedict and Fried Chicken and Waffles.

And if you are going there then don’t forget to enjoy their brunch cocktail as well, it goes perfectly with the restaurant’s savory and sweet dishes.

I once tried their Bloody Marys cocktail and it was decent but I have heard people saying that there are other creative cocktails and mocktails as well that you should definitely try at least once if you are going there.

Agora

Agora is not your regular brunch restaurant in DC, and why is it so? Because they offer a unique Mediterranean-inspired menu.

Agora offers you all the classic brunch dishes along with some unique options like Shakshuka and Keftahash which is a very popular Middle Eastern dish.

If you are going there with a group then my recommendation is to try their Mezza Platter, it is a perfect option for you to taste a variety of different flavors. Mezze Platter is a plate full of Mediterranean dishes such as baba ghanoush, stuffed grade leaves, etc.

And not to forget their bottomless brunch cocktails which you can easily pair with almost all dishes.

DC is an amazing area for foodies and there is no doubt about it, but finding the hidden gem in the city is a hard task, isn’t it? well, another hidden gem of this beautiful city is Succotash which is located just in the vibrant Penn Quarter hood.

For the best brunch in DC, you can’t go wrong with Succotash, this southern restaurant serves you one of the best brunches in DC.

And don’t mistake it for your regular southern restaurant in DC, this place comes with a modern twist.

You can go there to enjoy Shrimp and grits, which features succulent shrimp and they serve it with creamy grits along with sauce and crispy, delicious bacon.

And how can I forget Succotash’s fried chicken and waffles, this is highly recommended from our side, if you are going there then this is a must-try dish at Succotash.

Hay-Adams

Now this is not a restaurant but a hotel, a popular one, which I guess everyone already knows about, but do you know Hay-Adams’s brunch service is equally and locals consider it the best brunch in DC? well, know you now.

Located on the 9th floor of Hay-Adams, their brunch is held in the Lafayette Room, which is another best thing about this brunch spot, the dining space is beautiful and luxurious and will give you that royal feeling.

You can enjoy your brunch while enjoying the stunning view of the White House and Lafayette Square.

The brunch service is really great, and they serve a variety of cuisine, I like their classic brunch dish which is eggs benedict, and I like to enjoy it with their classic brunch drinks such as bloody marys.

The food is delicious, the ambiance is good, what else do you need? this place is definitely worth visiting if you are planning to have a good brunch experience in DC.
